From bars and restaurants to speakers and musicians, Northeastern has hundreds of activities to partake in and myriad places to frequent. In an annual poll hosted by The News, students voted for their favorites of what NU has to offer, and the results are in.
From a few sheets of cookies in her kitchen to the shelves of Whole Foods Market, Newton resident Bonnie Clancy has taken her startup cookie company, Bonnievilles, a long way since its launch in 2011.
Earlier this month, Boston gave a whole new meaning to the phrase, “pass me a cold one” with the opening of the world’s largest permanent ice bar in the Faneuil Hall Marketplace. And no, this is not a bar that sells ice, like tea or oxygen bars, but rather a bar made completely of ice. It may be 75 degrees outside, but it is 21 degrees year-round in Frost Ice Bar.
With its dive bar atmosphere, plethora of Northeastern students and people sporting sweatshirts and gym clothes, it’s safe to say that almost anyone can feel comfortable at Conor Larkin’s, which once again snagged the title of Best Campus Bar. The Irish-American pub and grill offers about 20 beers on tap and large portions of food – like the much-loved buffalo chicken nachos – for college-student-approved prices, and brunch on the weekends. Northeastern students who frequent the bar agree that everyone knows each other there, and that the bar has a great feel.
